Experience the quiet magic of a winter night on foot. This guided four-hour night hike follows the same well-packed route as the daytime tour, but the nocturnal Lapland landscape creates an entirely different atmosphere. Moonlight, a star-filled sky, and, with a bit of luck, the northern lights illuminate the snowy terrain in a way that words cannot capture. It’s something you simply have to see.
We hike at a relaxed pace for about 10 kilometres through the wintry scenery of the Tornio Valley. Along the way, we stop at a campfire to warm up, enjoy a hot drink and taste a sweet pastry. The silence of the night, the snowy forest and the glow of the fire create a unique atmosphere that will stay with you for a long time. During the excursion, we can explore and spot some different Lapland animal and bird tracks in the snow.
The tour is suitable for anyone with basic fitness. Your guide adjusts the route according to the participants’ wishes and experience so everyone can enjoy the nighttime nature of Lapland at its best. This is a perfect opportunity to step away from everyday life and feel the soothing power of the winter night. Younger children can, if necessary, travel on a sledge.
