Are you interested in a peaceful self-guided canoe trip on the Tornio River or a slightly more adventurous one on the Tengeliö River? With a canoe, you can travel at your own pace and explore the surroundings with friends or family. On both rivers, you might spot beavers, white-tailed eagles, or, with a bit of luck, even moose – especially in the evening or at night. During summer, you can also swim on the sandy islands or enjoy some leisure time.
When paddling in rapids, helmets are required. The area also offers several large lakes, such as Lake Miekojärvi, where you’ll find spots for campfires and swimming – perfect for a full day of paddling.
